What are veneers?
Veneers are custom-made, tooth-shaped shells of porcelain or composite resin that Dr. Jabaiti bonds to the front of your natural, permanent teeth. They’re used to improve the appearance of common oral imperfections, including:
- Cracked teeth
- Chipped teeth
- Smaller-than-average teeth
- Discolored teeth
- Pointy or crooked teeth
Dr. Jabaiti also uses veneers to address gaps and spaces between teeth.
Are there different types of veneers?
Dr. Jabaiti offers several different veneers, including:
Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers are tooth-shaped shells made of porcelain. Porcelain is strong, durable, and long-lasting. It also mimics the color and light-reflecting properties of your natural tooth enamel. This ensures the veneers blend in with your other teeth.
Prepless veneers or Lumineers®
Traditional veneers require Dr. Jabaiti to carefully shave a layer of enamel from each tooth. They also involve taking impressions that a laboratory uses to manufacture your permanent veneers. Lumineers are different in that they’re prep-less. This means Dr. Jabaiti can bond them to your teeth on the same day as your initial consultation. Lumineers are less invasive and take less time to apply. They’re quick and convenient.
eMax® Veneers
eMax veneers are similar to porcelain veneers. However, instead of bonding a custom-made shell to the front of your teeth, Dr. Jabaiti applies eMax veneers in layers. After carefully brushing on each layer, they harden and cure. Dr. Jabaiti repeats this process until your smile looks exactly how you want it to.
Porcelain jackets
Dr. Jabaiti uses porcelain jackets to address damage or decay that affects your front teeth. They’re similar to crowns, in that they restore a tooth to its original size, strength, and appearance. However, there’s no metal involved. Porcelain jackets blend in with your natural tooth enamel and restore your smile to its near-original condition.
